Scaling agile is tough. Convincing regulated financial institutions to change their "governance" processes to a matrixed, decentralized decision-making organization is almost impossible. But that’s just the change of direction that adopting agile approaches requires.

Come listen to the journey that Mary Thorn took with two regulated financial institutions by implementing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) without the business-side and people actually realizing the source of the change.

You will learn why and how the principles and values of SAFe and agile can transform any organization. And how a “stealth” strategy can overcome even the staidest or entrenched of cultures. We’ll also explore why team health is still fundamental to any scaling success and why having the right people on the bus make things so much easier.

Chief storyteller of The Three Pillars of Agile Testing and Quality, Mary Thorn is director of agile practices at Ipreo in Raleigh, NC. Mary has a broad agile and testing background that spans automation, data warehouses, and web-based systems in a wide variety of technologies and testing techniques. During her more than nineteen years of experience with healthcare, HR, financial, and SaaS-based products, Mary has held manager- and contributor-level positions in software development organizations. A strong leader in agile and testing methodologies, Mary has direct experience leading teams through agile adoption and beyond.
